Providence

(Billy Bob Thornton/JD Andrew)

It seems like happiness ignores all navigation
Sometimes freedoms comes when you have lost your way
I change the course of my imagination
And took a turn that leads to come what may
I don't know where I'm gonna go
Right now that's about the only thing I know

I'll see Jackson, Mississippi in the morning
You never know, I might decide to spend the night
I never know what dusty bed I'll be adorning
Providence always turns out the light

The load is lighter with no expectation
The time you waste becomes the time you bite
I gave away the need for explanation
Pulled over and gave Providence a ride
I don't know where I'm gonna go
Right now that's about the only thing I know

I'll see rain and fog and sleet along the highway
But the sun always seems to hear my appeals
I leave it all up to a friend who's going my way
Providence is tumbling in my wheels

I never know exactly where I'll be arriving
At the crossroads I'll just make a blind man's deal
Even though it's always me who does the driving
Providence is always at the wheel
Oh Providence is always at the wheel
